What Is CM-FACILITY-MIB?

CM-FACILITY-MIB is an ADVA Optical Networking MIB that defines facility (physical/logical port) management for the FSP150CM/CC (F3) product line of carrier Ethernet access and demarcation devices. It exposes port-level configuration and operational data — administrative and operational state, a "secondary state" that flags conditions like local/remote faults or loopback, physical/logical index mappings, MTU, media type, and configured versus negotiated link speed. This makes it directly useful for monitoring hardware status: cmEthernetAccPortOperationalState and cmEthernetAccPortSecondaryState reveal whether a given access port is up, degraded, or in an alarmed condition, while cmEthernetAccPortNegotiatedSpeed versus cmEthernetAccPortConfigSpeed exposes auto-negotiation mismatches that commonly cause performance problems. It builds on ADVA's broader entity/equipment MIB framework for the FSP150 platform and typically works alongside standard IF-MIB interface counters for full port visibility. Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll cmEthernetAccPortTable/cmEthernetAccPortEntry, checking cmEthernetAccPortAdminState against cmEthernetAccPortOperationalState to spot a port that's administratively enabled but operationally down, and cmEthernetAccPortSecondaryState to see whether the port is reporting a specific fault condition such as a loss-of-signal or loopback state. Comparing cmEthernetAccPortConfigSpeed to cmEthernetAccPortNegotiatedSpeed would catch an auto-negotiation mismatch that's silently degrading throughput on a customer-facing Ethernet access port, while cmEthernetAccPortMTU confirms jumbo-frame settings are correctly provisioned for the service.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using f3Usb3GDCNPortSpeed OID:

Select an ADVA/Ceragon FSP150 CM/CC microwave and Carrier Ethernet transport platform as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type f3Usb3GDCNPortSpeed into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. It reports the current connection speed of the 3G DCN (Data Communications Network) USB port. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an Integer32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the reported speed drops below the level you expect for this connection, since a lower-than-expected speed often points to a signal or negotiation problem. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
