This read-create Integer32 (1..4) selects which of four Quality-of-Service shaper directions a table row configures: 1 and 2 for the Access Flow Shaper's A2N and N2A directions, and 3 and 4 (added in release 5.6CC) for the Pass-thru Flow Shaper's N1toN2 and N2toN1 directions. An admin needs to pick the right index because shaping in the wrong direction has no effect on the traffic problem they're trying to solve, such as capping upstream-only congestion. For example, to rate-limit only traffic flowing from the network toward the access side on an access flow, an admin would use cmQosShaperTypeIndex value 2 (N2A) rather than value 1.
