What Is CM-COMMON-MIB?
CM-COMMON-MIB is a base/shared MIB module from ADVA Optical Networking (originally Ceragon-lineage naming, CM = FSP150 Common Module) that defines common textual conventions, product/subproduct identifiers, and shelf/slot object definitions reused across the FSP150CM and FSP150CC microwave/packet transport product lines. Rather than exposing standalone monitoring data itself, it establishes shared building blocks (product capability flags, shelf/hub identifiers, port/interface naming like ge101/ge206) that other FSP150-family MIBs reference for consistent device modeling. Its practical monitoring role is indirect: it underpins hardware inventory identification (which subproduct/shelf/hub a given managed entity belongs to) and capability discovery (f3Capabilities) used by higher-level MIBs to expose actual performance, alarm, and status data. A CM-COMMON-MIB reference is therefore consulted by engineers mainly to interpret the product, shelf, and port identifiers surfaced by other FSP150-family MIBs, rather than for direct polling, and it is explicitly a dependency for other FSP150CM/CC MIBs (e.g., CM-TOPOLOGY-MIB) rather than a standalone monitoring target. It is typically deployed as a shared component on ADVA/Ceragon FSP150 microwave and packet transport network elements.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CM-COMMON-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- product/subproduct identity
- shelf/hub identifier
- supported capability flags
- physical port/interface naming (e.g. ge101, ge201, ge206)
Supported Devices
- Ceragon IP-100E (2025) — dual-carrier E-band microwave radio, up to 40 Gbps in a 4+0 all-outdoor link
- Ceragon IP-50GP (2025) — cost-optimized split-mount microwave backhaul radio
Monitoring Examples
A management system would reference f3Capabilities to determine which features a given FSP150CM/CC unit supports before polling feature-specific object groups defined in dependent MIBs. The nemihubshelf and subproducts objects would be used to identify which shelf/hub and hardware variant a managed port like ge101, ge201, or ge206 physically belongs to, grounding inventory and topology views built by other MIBs. Because this module is foundational rather than data-bearing, an admin would rarely poll it directly for anomalies; instead it's consulted to interpret data coming from CM-TOPOLOGY-MIB and other FSP150 MIBs correctly.
