This read-only SquelchControl object reports which method is used to squelch (mute) the output of the Time-of-Day/clock port when its timing quality is unacceptable. Squelching matters because letting a degraded clock signal propagate downstream can corrupt synchronization on other equipment that trusts it. For example, a port configured with a quality-based squelch method would automatically stop outputting once its upstream reference dropped below an acceptable quality level.
