Description: This object allows to specify time for timed-loopbacks on on the Ethernet Network Port.
What is cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackTime?
This read-write Integer32 (2..300) specifies, in seconds, how long a timed loopback will remain active on an Ethernet Network Port before automatically clearing. Admins use a bounded timed loopback rather than a persistent one specifically to avoid accidentally leaving a customer's traffic path looped indefinitely if they forget to remove it manually. For example, setting cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackTime to 60 lets a technician run a one-minute test loopback for a BER test and have it automatically restore normal forwarding even if they lose remote access mid-test.
