Description: This object allows to specify the assumed QL on the Ethernet Network Port. This object is only applicable for Synchronous Ethernet capable ports. The Assumed QL is only meaningful if the Network Clock Type (see fsp150cm-sync.mib) is option1 and the port's QL Mode is disabled and the port is being used as an input reference source. Under these conditions, the specified QL value is assumed to be the Quality Level of the non-failed reference.

What is cmEthernetNetPortAssumedQL?

This read-write SSMQualityLevel object specifies the Quality Level to assume for a Synchronous-Ethernet port's input reference when QL Mode is disabled, the Network Clock Type is option1, and the port is used as an input reference source. Admins set this when the connected clock source doesn't itself send SSM PDUs, so the system still has a QL value to reason about for source-selection decisions. For example, feeding in a known-good external GPS-derived reference over a port with QL Mode disabled, an admin would set cmEthernetNetPortAssumedQL to a high quality level to reflect that trusted source's actual quality.
