Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::ocnStmAssumedQL

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.47.1.30

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: SSMQualityLevel

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to specify the assumed QL on the OCn/STM interface. This object is only applicable for Synchronous OCn/STM interface. The Assumed QL is only meaningful if the Network Clock Type (see fsp150cm-sync.mib) is option1 and the port TransmitQL Mode is disabled and the port is being used as an input reference source. Under these conditions, the specified QL value is assumed to be the Quality Level of the non-failed reference.

What is ocnStmAssumedQL?

This read-write SSMQualityLevel object lets an administrator specify an assumed Quality Level on the OCn/STM interface, meaningful, per its description, only when the Network Clock Type is option1, transmit QL mode is disabled, and the port is used as an input reference source. It provides a manually configured stand-in quality level for timing purposes when the interface cannot actually receive real SSM quality information. For example, using an older far-end SONET source that doesn't support SSM signaling, an operator would set this assumed QL to the known quality of that source so local clock selection logic can still make an informed choice.
