Description: This object allows specification of whether the Ethernet Network Port is capable of OAM remote loopback mode.

What is cmEthernetNetPortOamLocalOamLoopbacksSupported?

This read-write TruthValue specifies whether an Ethernet Network Port is capable of entering EFM OAM remote loopback mode when requested by the far end. Admins toggle this to control whether their equipment will honor a remote loopback request at all, which is important since an unexpected remote loopback would disrupt live customer traffic. For example, an admin might leave cmEthernetNetPortOamLocalOamLoopbacksSupported disabled on a production port to prevent a third party's OAM loopback request from silently looping live customer traffic back.
