cmEthernetNetPortOuterVlanLoopback3

Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortOuterVlanLoopback3

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.36

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows specification of the outer VLAN 3 to be looped back when port is in vlan(terminal/facility) loopback configuration. This is valid only if the corresponding bit in cmEthernetNetPortOuterVlanLoopbackMask is set. The value to be specified should be in the form X-Y where X is the VLAN Id and Y is the VLAN Priority. If Y is specified as a *, all Priorities (0 to 7) are looped back.

What is cmEthernetNetPortOuterVlanLoopback3?

This read-write DisplayString (0..6 chars) specifies, in the form X-Y, which outer VLAN 3 traffic to loop back on an Ethernet Network Port, valid only when the corresponding bit in cmEthernetNetPortOuterVlanLoopbackMask is set. It gives an admin a third independent VLAN loopback slot so up to three separate customer VLANs on the same physical port can each be tested without affecting the others. For example, setting cmEthernetNetPortOuterVlanLoopback3 to '310-*' loops back all priorities of outer VLAN 310 while VLANs handled by the Loopback2 and mask-selected first VLAN slot remain configured independently.
