Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::ocnStmQLModeEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.47.1.28

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to specify whether the OCn/STM interface can be enabled/disabled for QL Mode. This object is only applicable for Synchronous OCn/STM interface, when ocnStmQLModeEnabled is set to true. When enabled, on receive side -port shall PEER the SSM (Sync Status Messages) slow protocol PDUs and take appropriate action When enabled, on transmit side -port shall periodically (once a second) transmit QL TLV information PDUs When disabled, on receive side, -port shall terminate and discard any SSM slow protocol PDUs When disabled, on transmit side -port shall not transmit any SSM slow protocol PDUs.

What is ocnStmQLModeEnabled?

This read-write TruthValue enables or disables Quality Level (QL) mode for synchronization status messaging (SSM) on the OCn/STM interface, and per its description, when enabled, the receive side processes SSM slow-protocol PDUs and the transmit side periodically transmits them, applicable only to synchronous OCn/STM interfaces. An administrator enables it when this interface is used as a timing reference source or distribution path that must exchange clock-quality information with adjacent nodes. For example, enabling QL mode on an OCn interface feeding a network's primary reference clock lets downstream nodes automatically learn and react to that clock source's quality level via SSM.
