Description: Control Protocol Disposition for GARP Multicast Registration Protocol. MAC Address (01:80:C2:00:00:20).

What is cmEthernetNetPortCpdV2GMRPDispType?

CpdV2GMRPDispType is a read-write setting on the Ethernet network-facing (NNI/trunk) port that selects how GARP Multicast Registration Protocol (GMRP) control frames (MAC 01:80:C2:00:00:20) are disposed of when they reach this NE — typically processed locally, dropped, passed through untouched, or tunneled across the network via L2PT. Passing GMRP through lets attached switches dynamically register multicast group membership across this network-facing facility instead of relying on static multicast configuration. On the network-facing trunk port linking to the next carrier NE, an administrator would set this object to peer, drop, pass-through, or tunnel GARP Multicast Registration Protocol (GMRP) frames depending on whether this facility should terminate, block, forward, or L2PT-encapsulate that traffic.
