Description: This object allows to specify the assumed QL on the BITS Port. The Assumed QL is only meaningful if the Network Clock Type (see fsp150cm-sync.mib) is option1 and the port's QL Mode is disabled and the port is being used as an input reference source. Under these conditions, the specified QL value is assumed to be the Quality Level of the non-failed reference.

What is bitsPortAssumedQL?

bitsPortAssumedQL is a read-write setting specifying the quality level an administrator assumes for this BITS port's input reference when QL mode is disabled and the network clock type is option1, since without SSM signaling the device has no way to learn the source's actual quality on its own. This matters because the assumed value directly feeds the clock-source selection algorithm that decides which reference the chassis synchronizes to. For example, an operator feeding a BITS-IN port from a known Stratum-1 GPS-locked source with QL mode disabled would set the assumed QL to reflect that source's real quality so the selection logic ranks it correctly against other candidate references.
