Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetTrafficPortQLModeEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.27.1.75

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to specify whether the Ethernet Port can be enabled/disabled for QL Mode. This object is only applicable for Synchronous Ethernet capable ports, when cmEthernetTrafficPortQLModeEnabled is set to true. When enabled, on receive side -port shall PEER the SSM (Sync Status Messages) slow protocol PDUs and take appropriate action When enabled, on transmit side -port shall periodically (once a second) transmit QL TLV information PDUs When disabled, on receive side, -port shall terminate and discard any SSM slow protocol PDUs When disabled, on transmit side -port shall not transmit any SSM slow protocol PDUs.

What is cmEthernetTrafficPortQLModeEnabled?

This TruthValue enables or disables Quality Level (QL) Mode on a Synchronous Ethernet capable port, which governs whether the port peers Synchronization Status Message (SSM) slow-protocol PDUs on receive and periodically transmits them. An administrator cares because turning this on makes the port actively participate in SyncE clock-quality signaling used to keep network timing synchronized across carrier equipment. For example, enabling QL Mode on a SyncE uplink port causes it to both listen for incoming SSM quality-level advertisements and send its own out toward the connected device.
