cmEthernetTrafficPortDeiEnable

Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetTrafficPortDeiEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.27.1.91

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object describes whether use DEI bit in S-tag to recognize Drop Eligibility Parameter for ingress S-tag packets or Set DEI bit for egress S-tag Packets. This object is still supported by OSA8.1.1

What is cmEthernetTrafficPortDeiEnable?

This TruthValue setting controls whether the port uses the Drop Eligibility Indicator (DEI) bit in the S-tag to recognize drop-eligible frames on ingress, or sets that same DEI bit on egress S-tag frames. An administrator enables it to let the device participate in color-aware QoS marking that follows the IEEE 802.1ad DEI convention rather than ignoring that bit. For example, turning this on for a port carrying metered traffic allows downstream congestion management to preferentially drop frames the DEI bit marks as lower priority.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.27.1.91
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetTrafficPortDeiEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.27.1.91.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetTrafficPortDeiEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.27.1.91.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cmEthernetTrafficPortDeiEnable.1
