cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed

Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EthernetPortSpeed

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to configure the speed of the Ethernet Network Port.

What is cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed?

This read-write EthernetPortSpeed object lets an admin configure the desired link speed for an Ethernet Network Port. It matters because configured speed must be compatible with both the installed media (copper vs. fiber/SFP) and the far-end device, and a mismatched configured speed is a common cause of a port failing to establish link. For example, connecting to a far-end device fixed at 1 Gbps full-duplex, an admin would set cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed to that fixed rate rather than leaving it on an auto-negotiation setting that the far end doesn't support.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.9.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cmEthernetNetPortConfigSpeed.1
