Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortLinkLossFwdRemoteLinkIds

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.48

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CmRemoteLinkIds

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows enabling/disabling Remote Link Ids on Ethernet Network port. By setting the appropriate bit positions, the Ethernet Network port is able to distinguish the remote side client ports from the Remote Link Down PDUs coming from remote end.

What is cmEthernetNetPortLinkLossFwdRemoteLinkIds?

This OID enables or disables the ability to identify remote port identifiers from 'link down' notification messages arriving on an Ethernet network interface. Enabling it lets the port correctly recognize which remote side failed when communication stops. A technician enables this when troubleshooting link failures to ensure the device correctly identifies which far-end port went down.
