Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB
OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::bitsPortSquelchQL
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.16.1.18
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: SSMQualityLevel
Access: read-write
Description: This object allows to set the Squelch QL for the BITS-OUT port. The Squelch QL is only meaningful if the QL Mode is Enabled. The Squelch QL is used to determine whether or not to squelch the output of the BITS-OUT port. If the system's QL is lower than the Squelch QL, the output is squelched. If the BITS port's QL Mode is disabled, then the received QL value is not applicable.
What is bitsPortSquelchQL?
bitsPortSquelchQL is a read-write setting, meaningful only when QL mode is enabled, that defines the quality-level threshold below which the BITS-OUT port's output signal is squelched (suppressed) rather than transmitted. An administrator uses this to prevent a BITS-OUT port from feeding a known-bad or low-quality clock downstream once the system's own synchronization quality has degraded past an acceptable point. For example, setting the squelch QL such that the port mutes its output whenever the system falls back to a holdover or free-run quality level protects downstream equipment from locking onto an unreliable reference.
