Description: Control Protocol Disposition for IEEE 802.1x Protocol. MAC Address (01:80:C2:00:00:03), Ethertype (0x888E).

What is cmEthernetNetPortCpdV2PortAuthenDispType?

CpdV2PortAuthenDispType is a read-write setting on the Ethernet network-facing (NNI/trunk) port that selects how IEEE 802.1x port-authentication control frames (MAC 01:80:C2:00:00:03, Ethertype 0x888E) are disposed of when they reach this NE — typically processed locally, dropped, passed through untouched, or tunneled across the network via L2PT. If this NE is expected to be transparent to 802.1x, setting it to drop instead of pass-through would silently break a customer's supplicant/authenticator handshake. On the network-facing trunk port linking to the next carrier NE, a technician deploying 802.1x on the attached switch would confirm cmEthernetAccPortCpdV2PortAuthenDispType passes the frames through rather than dropping them.
