Description: This object allows to specify whether or not the loopbacked frame will have the Source Address and Destination Address swapped.

What is cmEthernetTrafficPortLoopbackSwapSADA?

cmEthernetTrafficPortLoopbackSwapSADA is a read-write setting specifying whether the source and destination MAC addresses of a looped-back frame are swapped on this port. An administrator enables this when the loopback test needs the returned frame to look like a normal reply (with swapped addresses) rather than an exact bit-for-bit echo, which some test equipment expects. For example, testing with equipment that validates a frame's destination address against its own MAC would require this object enabled so the loopback swaps addresses correctly for that check to pass.
