Description: This object allows specification of the tag management operation on the S-TAG. Supported types are 'push', 'swapvid', and 'none'. If the type is 'push', the VLAN Id (cmFlowSTagVlanId) and priority (cmFlowSTagVlanPriority) are pushed onto the frame; if the type is 'swapvid', the VLAN Id(12 bits) is swapped with the specified cmFlowSTagVlanId; type is 'none', no S-TAG manament is performed.
This object is not applicable for Tranparent Flow; the value should be 'none'.
What is cmFlowSTagControl?
This OID controls how the system manages S-TAG labels (VLAN identifiers used in carrier networks) on network frames. It can 'push' (add) new labels, 'swapvid' (replace existing labels), or 'none' (leave labels unchanged). A network operator uses this to enforce network segmentation policies, deciding whether traffic should be tagged with customer-specific identifiers as it passes through the switch.
