This read-create Integer32 (1..4) selects which of four Quality-of-Service policer directions a table row configures: 1 and 2 for the Access Flow Policer's A2N and N2A directions, and 3 and 4 (new in release 5.6CC) for the Pass-thru Flow Policer's N1toN2 and N2toN1 directions. As with the analogous shaper-type index, an admin needs to pick the correct direction to police the traffic direction actually causing a problem, since policing the wrong direction leaves the real issue unaddressed. For example, to rate-limit only inbound traffic entering from the access side toward the network, an admin would use cmQosFlowPolicerTypeIndex value 1 (A2N) rather than value 2.
