Description: This object allows the SNMP user to manage the Priority Code Point (PCP) Drop Eligibility Pairs. When the cmEthernetNetPortExpDEEncType is of type 7p1d, 6p2d, 5p3d, the cmNetPortExpDEPairTable can be used to specify alternate pairs of priorities to specify drop eligibility/ ineligibility.
What is cmEthernetNetPortExpDEPairsAction?
This read-write PcpDEPairsAction object lets an admin manage Priority Code Point (PCP) Drop Eligibility Pairs on a port when cmEthernetNetPortExpDEEncType uses a paired encoding scheme (7p1d, 6p2d, or 5p3d); the associated cmNetPortExpDEPairTable specifies alternate priority pairs for drop eligibility/ineligibility. Admins use this action object to trigger or manage updates to those pair mappings, which is necessary because a paired PCP encoding scheme means one nominal priority value can represent either a drop-eligible or drop-ineligible variant. For example, when moving from a 5p3d encoding scheme to 7p1d, an admin would use cmEthernetNetPortExpDEPairsAction together with the pair table to redefine which PCP priority pairs represent eligible-vs-ineligible traffic under the new scheme.
