Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEgressOuterTagCtrl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.32.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: PrioMapControlType

Access: read-write

Description: This object defines the behavior of the Priority portion of the frame transmit out. If NONE is selected, the outgoing priority bits are left unchanged. If SWAP is selected, the priority bits are changed by the value specified in the Outer-Tag Priority parameter.

What is cmEgressOuterTagCtrl?

This read-write object defines the behavior applied to the priority bits of the outer tag on egress transmit: selecting NONE leaves the outgoing priority bits unchanged, while selecting SWAP replaces them with the value specified in the associated Outer-Tag Priority parameter. An administrator chooses SWAP when the outbound priority marking needs to be deliberately remapped rather than passed through as received. For example, setting this to SWAP on an egress interface toward a peering network lets an operator remark the outer tag's priority to match that peer's expected QoS scheme rather than leaking through the original internal marking.
