cmEthernetNetPortXdslBitSwapEnabled

Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortXdslBitSwapEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.104.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Enable/disable bitswap.

What is cmEthernetNetPortXdslBitSwapEnabled?

This read-write TruthValue enables or disables the xDSL bitswap feature on this network port, which dynamically reallocates bits across the line's subcarrier tones to adapt to changing noise conditions without retraining the whole line. An administrator enables this to help a marginal DSL line maintain sync through varying noise rather than dropping and retraining. For example, enabling bitswap on a line affected by intermittent crosstalk lets it quietly shift bit loading between tones instead of losing synchronization altogether.
