Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::e1t1LineCode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.50.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: E1T1LineCode

Access: read-write

Description: This object represents the E1/T1 Port Line Code. When the port is configured for a Line Type of T1, the valid values are t1-b8zs and t1-ami and the default value is t1-b8zs. When the port is configured for a Line Type of E1, the valid values are e1-hdb3 and e1-ami and the default value is e1-hdb3.

What is e1t1LineCode?

This object selects the line-encoding scheme the E1/T1 port uses on the wire, choosing between t1-b8zs or t1-ami for T1 lines and e1-hdb3 or e1-ami for E1 lines depending on the port's configured Line Type. Getting this wrong causes bipolar violations or bit-stuffing mismatches with the far-end equipment, so an admin sets it to match whatever encoding the carrier or connected device expects. For example, when connecting to a legacy T1 circuit that only supports AMI, the admin changes e1t1LineCode from the b8zs default to t1-ami to avoid line errors.
