cmEthernetNetPortQinQEtherType

Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortQinQEtherType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.77

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to specify the Q-in-Q Ether Type on the Network Port. Setting this value to 0 will disable the Q-in-Q override on the Network Port.

What is cmEthernetNetPortQinQEtherType?

This read-write Unsigned32 specifies the Q-in-Q outer Ethertype override used on an Ethernet Network Port; setting it to 0 disables the override. Admins configure this when interoperating with equipment that expects a nonstandard outer tag Ethertype for Q-in-Q, since a mismatched Ethertype causes double-tagged frames to be misinterpreted as untagged or single-tagged. For example, connecting to legacy equipment that expects 0x9100 instead of the standard 0x88a8 for the outer Q-in-Q tag, an admin would set cmEthernetNetPortQinQEtherType to 0x9100 to match.
