Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetAccPortCpdV2DtpDispType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.13.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CmControlProtocolDispType

Access: read-write

Description: Control Protocol Disposition for DTP (Dynamic Trunking). MAC Address (01:00:0C:CC:CC:CC), Ethertype(0x2004).

What is cmEthernetAccPortCpdV2DtpDispType?

This read-write CmControlProtocolDispType object sets the Control Protocol Disposition specifically for DTP (Dynamic Trunking Protocol) frames, identified by MAC address 01:00:0C:CC:CC:CC and Ethertype 0x2004, on an Ethernet Access Port. Admins configure this because DTP negotiates trunk status automatically, and allowing it across a service boundary could let a customer's switch inadvertently (or maliciously) negotiate trunk mode with carrier equipment. For example, an admin securing a customer access port would set cmEthernetAccPortCpdV2DtpDispType to drop so DTP negotiation frames from the customer's switch can't influence the carrier's own VLAN trunking configuration.
