Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetAccPortSyncEEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.1.1.90

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to specify whether the Ethernet Access Port can be enabled/disabled for Synchronous Ethernet. This object is only applicable for Synchronous Ethernet capable ports. When enabled, on receive side -port can extract the frequency of its input signal and pass the recovered clock to the system clock -port processes the ESMC(Ethernet Synchronization Messaging Channel) and extracts the QL (when also QL enabled) -port is eligible to be selected as a system clock reference When enabled, on transmit side -port's transmit clock is locked to the system clock -port generates an ESMC to generate a QL (when also QL enabled)

When disabled, on receive side, -port does not pass the recovered clock to the system clock -port does not process the ESMC (if present) -port is not eligible to be selected as a system clock reference When disabled, on transmit side -port's output frequency may be synchronized to the system clock -port does not generate an ESMC.

What is cmEthernetAccPortSyncEEnabled?

This read-write TruthValue, applicable only to Synchronous Ethernet capable ports, enables SyncE clock recovery and ESMC processing on the Ethernet Access Port. Enabling it lets the port extract a frequency reference from the received signal and feed it to the system clock while processing ESMC quality-level messages. For example, an administrator enables SyncE on an access port serving as the network's primary timing reference source so the system clock locks to the recovered line frequency.
