Description: Control Protocol Disposition for Sync Status Messages. MAC Address (01:80:C2:00:00:02), Ethertype (0x19A7), Subtype(0A).
What is cmEthernetNetPortCpdV2SSMDispType?
CpdV2SSMDispType is a read-write setting on the Ethernet network-facing (NNI/trunk) port that selects how Synchronization Status Message (SSM) slow-protocol control frames (MAC 01:80:C2:00:00:02, Ethertype 0x19A7, subtype 0A) are disposed of when they reach this NE — typically processed locally, dropped, passed through untouched, or tunneled across the network via L2PT. Getting this wrong means the network's timing-quality signaling either gets silently eaten at this box or leaks onto a segment that shouldn't see it, undermining clock-quality selection downstream. On the network-facing trunk port linking to the next carrier NE, an administrator would peer SSM locally if this NE itself needs to read/relay the synchronization quality level, rather than dropping frames meant to inform its clock source selection.
