cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress

Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.95

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: MacAddress

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows to set Net Port Source MAC Address for frame matching when Net Port Source MAC Control is enabled.

What is cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress?

This read-write MacAddress sets the source MAC address used for frame matching when the Net Port Source MAC Control feature is enabled on an Ethernet Network Port's loopback. It matters because scoping a loopback by source MAC lets an admin loop back only frames originating from a specific device, rather than every frame arriving on the port. For example, to isolate testing to only frames from a specific test set connected upstream, an admin would set cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress to that test set's MAC so only its frames get looped.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.95
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.95.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CM-FACILITY-MIB::cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.7.1.95.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cmEthernetNetPortLoopbackSourceMacAddress.1
