bitsPortQLModeEnabled
Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB
OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::bitsPortQLModeEnabled
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.16.1.13
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: This object allows to specify whether the BITS Port can be enabled/disabled for QL Mode. When enabled, on receive side -port shall PEER the SSM (Sync Status Messages) slow protocol PDUs and take appropriate action When enabled, on transmit side -port shall periodically (once a second) transmit QL TLV information PDUs When disabled, on receive side, -port shall terminate and discard any SSM slow protocol PDUs When disabled, on transmit side -port shall not transmit any SSM slow protocol PDUs.
What is bitsPortQLModeEnabled?
bitsPortQLModeEnabled is a read-write boolean that turns Quality Level (QL) mode on or off for this BITS port; when enabled, the receive side peers incoming SSM slow-protocol PDUs and acts on them, and the transmit side sends out its own SSM PDUs. An administrator enables this when the port participates in SSM-based automatic clock-source selection, and disables it on ports where the quality level must be assumed rather than signaled. For example, disabling QL mode on a BITS-IN port is what makes bitsPortAssumedQL meaningful, since without SSM signaling the device must be told the incoming reference's quality level instead of learning it.
