Module: CM-FACILITY-MIB
OID (symbolic): CM-FACILITY-MIB::bits8PortGroupQLModeEnabled
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.4.1.78.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: This object allows to specify whether the BITS 8 Port Group can be enabled/disabled for QL Mode. When enabled, on receive side -port shall PEER the SSM (Sync Status Messages) slow protocol PDUs and take appropriate action When enabled, on transmit side -port shall periodically (once a second) transmit QL TLV information PDUs When disabled, on receive side, -port shall terminate and discard any SSM slow protocol PDUs When disabled, on transmit side -port shall not transmit any SSM slow protocol PDUs.
What is bits8PortGroupQLModeEnabled?
This TruthValue enables or disables Quality Level Mode on the BITS 8 Port Group, which when enabled makes the port peer SSM slow-protocol PDUs on receive and periodically transmit QL TLV information on transmit, and when disabled makes the receive side terminate and discard such PDUs instead. Admins enable QL Mode so the network can automatically track and act on the quality level of this BITS timing source, supporting automatic failover to better clocks. For example, an admin enables bits8PortGroupQLModeEnabled on a BITS group feeding multiple network elements so those elements can automatically detect if this timing source's quality degrades and switch to a better one.
