Category: Environmental Monitoring

Description: Monitors environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity for ADN network equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ADN-ENV-MIB?

ADN-ENV-MIB is a vendor-private MIB whose own module description flags it as internal, used by FRANP (Frame Relay Network Access Point) signalling for debugging purposes rather than for routine operational monitoring. Its data is a channel-level signalling table tracking resource availability, bandwidth threshold, a call-control-block (CCB) reference, and diagnostic trace controls per Frame Relay channel. Because the module itself frames this as a debug aid, it is mainly of interest when working with the vendor's support team to diagnose a Frame Relay signalling problem rather than for everyday capacity monitoring. It is deployed on Frame Relay access equipment implementing FRANP-based signalling. Engineers can download the ADN-ENV-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADN-ENV-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Frame Relay access equipment implementing FRANP-based signalling

Monitoring Examples

A vendor support engineer enables adnFrtChanSiTraceCntl on a specific channel to capture FRANP signalling trace data while reproducing a reported Frame Relay call-setup problem.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-channel resource availability and bandwidth threshold
  • signalling trace control
