Category: Quality of Service, Vendor: RADLAN/Cisco SB
Description: Manages Cisco Small Business QoS CLI policy objects for traffic marking, queuing, and scheduling.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCOSB-QOS-CLI-MIB?
CISCOSB-QOS-CLI-MIB is a Cisco Small Business private MIB backing the CLI-driven QoS engine, covering traffic classification offsets, policers, queues, and associated statistics counters. It exposes configuration mode settings (basic vs advanced QoS CLI mode), classification offset/pattern rules, and multiple statistics tables covering per-port policy stats, single/aggregate policer stats, and output queue stats. Its monitoring value is centered on QoS performance counters—tracking how much traffic is being marked, policed, or dropped per queue/policer, which helps diagnose congestion or misclassified traffic. It is Cisco proprietary, standing alongside (not replacing) the standard DiffServ MIB concepts. It is deployed on Cisco Small Business switches applying QoS policies to prioritize voice/video traffic over an SMB LAN. Engineers can download the CISCOSB-QOS-CLI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-QOS-CLI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Small Business switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would check rlQosCliQosMode to confirm whether the switch is in basic or advanced QoS mode, then review rlQosOffsetTable/rlQosOffsetEntry (via rlQosOffsetType, rlQosOffsetPattern, rlQosOffsetMask) to verify custom classification rules are matching intended traffic. Polling counters under rlQosStatistics such as per-port policy or output-queue statistics tables would reveal whether a specific queue is dropping packets due to policer limits, indicating the configured MIR/QoS thresholds are too aggressive for current traffic load.
What Can Be Monitored
- QoS CLI mode (basic/advanced)
- classification offset rules
- per-port policy statistics
- policer statistics (single/aggregate)
- output queue statistics
- global QoS statistics counters
