What Is CISCOSB-MIB?

CISCOSB-MIB is the root OID hierarchy module for Cisco Small Business (the former Linksys business-class line acquired by Cisco) managed switches and small-office network devices, under which all CISCOSB-prefixed functional MIBs register their objects. The sample content here consists entirely of subtree/registration nodes (rndMng, rndDeviceParams, rndBootP, ipSpec, rsTunning, rndApplications) rather than pollable data, reflecting its heritage as a rebranded Radlan-derived MIB base. It therefore has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status by itself; that is provided by the numerous CISCOSB functional MIBs covering device parameters, BootP/DHCP configuration, IP settings, and application-specific features that build on these subtrees. It is a required dependency for the whole CISCOSB MIB family and shares lineage/naming conventions with RADLAN-MIB. It's deployed with Cisco Small Business managed switches in small-office/branch environments. The ciscosb naming convention carries over into every functional module built on this root, making related MIBs easy to identify at a glance.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Catalyst 1200 Series (2023) — current small-business successor line replacing the Small Business/CBS switches

Monitoring Examples

This module itself defines only registration subtrees (e.g. rndDeviceParams, rndBootP, ipSpec) with no runtime scalars or tables, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe directly; actual device parameters, BootP/IP configuration state, and application status are exposed by the CISCOSB functional MIBs registered under these nodes.
