What Is ADSL2-LINE-MIB?
ADSL2-LINE-MIB is a standards-based IETF MIB (RFC 4706) extending the original ADSL-LINE-MIB (RFC 2662) to manage ADSL2 (G.992.3/G.992.4) and ADSL2+ (G.992.5) DSL line interfaces. It defines line configuration profiles/templates, alarm configuration templates, command/control objects for retraining, and status objects covering transmission system type, power management state, and per-direction line state. It is directly used to monitor DSL hardware/line status: line initialization success or failure, power management state (full power, low-power, idle), and the last upstream/downstream state reached are key indicators of physical-layer modem health. It explicitly extends the earlier RFC 2662 ADSL-LINE-MIB and works alongside the standard IF-MIB. It is deployed on standards-compliant DSLAM and CPE ADSL2/2+ modems in telco broadband access networks. Engineers can download the ADSL2-LINE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADSL2-LINE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
An admin polls adsl2LineTable/adsl2LineEntry objects such as adsl2LineStatusInitResult and adsl2LineStatusPwrMngState to confirm a line trained successfully and is in full-power operation. adsl2LineStatusLastStateDs and adsl2LineStatusLastStateUs reveal the last downstream/upstream state reached during initialization, useful for diagnosing a line stuck in a low-power or failed-retrain condition. adsl2LineCmndConfLdsfFailReason exposes why a loop-diagnostics or short initialization command failed.
