Module: ADSL2-LINE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADSL2-LINE-MIB::adsl2LineStatusSigAttenDs

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.238.1.1.1.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The measured difference in the total power transmitted by the ATU-C and the total power received by the ATU-R over all sub- carriers during Showtime. It ranges from 0 to 1270 units of 0.1 dB (physical values are 0 to 127 dB). A special value of 0x7FFFFFFF (2147483647) indicates the signal attenuation is out of range to be represented. A special value of 0x7FFFFFFE (2147483646) indicates the signal attenuation measurement is currently unavailable.

What is adsl2LineStatusSigAttenDs?

This read-only OID measures the signal loss during active Showtime in the downstream direction, in units of 0.1 dB (0–1270, or 0–127 dB physical), reflecting real-world conditions under traffic. Engineers use this to forecast achievable download speeds and line stability: higher values indicate lower margin for additional noise or interference. For example, a Showtime attenuation of 700 (70 dB) is typical for stable lines; if it climbs above 1200 (120 dB), download speeds will drop significantly.
