What Is ADSL2-LINE-TC-MIB?
ADSL2-LINE-TC-MIB is an IETF standards-track module (RFC 4706) defining textual conventions shared across ADSL2-LINE-MIB, covering data types for transceiver unit identification, transmission direction, and the various transmission modes used by ADSL, ADSL2, and ADSL2+ lines. It defines no objects, tables, or traps itself; it exists purely to standardize the SYNTAX types that the companion ADSL2-LINE-MIB uses to represent line configuration and performance data consistently. Consequently it plays no direct role in reporting hardware or software status such as line rate, sync state, or error counters—that data belongs to ADSL2-LINE-MIB, which imports these conventions. It is an explicit, required dependency of ADSL2-LINE-MIB and is only meaningful when loaded alongside it. It is used wherever ADSL2/ADSL2+-capable DSLAMs and CPE modems, from any vendor implementing the standard, expose SNMP instrumentation for their lines. Engineers implementing ADSL2 line monitoring typically keep the ADSL2-LINE-TC-MIB reference on hand alongside ADSL2-LINE-MIB, since the type definitions here determine how the companion module's line-status and performance values are encoded.

Monitoring Examples
This module defines only textual conventions (transceiver unit identifiers, transmission direction/mode enumerations) and has no pollable objects of its own. Real line monitoring—sync state, line rate, or error seconds—happens through ADSL2-LINE-MIB, which imports these type definitions to decode its table values. There is no standalone monitoring scenario for this module.
