What Is CDATA-EPON-MIB?
CDATA-EPON-MIB is a vendor MIB from C-Data Technology for its EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) Optical Line Terminal (OLT) equipment, used in fiber-to-the-home/business access networks. It is expected to expose configuration and status for ONU (Optical Network Unit) registration and authentication, PON port configuration, and per-ONU/per-port optical link statistics such as signal strength and traffic counters. As an OLT management MIB, it is used to monitor the hardware and link status of the PON system: which ONUs are registered/online, optical receive power levels, and port/link operational state, which together indicate fiber plant health and subscriber connectivity. It would typically be used alongside standard IF-MIB interface counters for the OLT's uplink and PON port interfaces. It is deployed in access-network head-ends by ISPs delivering fiber broadband service via C-Data EPON OLT hardware paired with subscriber ONUs. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CDATA-EPON-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
