This OCTET STRING (1-4 bytes, read-create) holds the vendor ID code this policy rule matches against, following the standard EPON/GPON vendor ID convention reported by ONUs. Admins use the vendor code when they want to trust an entire manufacturer's product line rather than one specific model. For example, setting the vendor ID to the 4-character code assigned to a specific ONU manufacturer via eponOnuPolicyAuthRuleVendorId auto-approves any device from that vendor regardless of exact model.
