Description: C-Data (FD-series) Optical Network Unit MIB for managing ONU device registration, status, and performance on PON networks.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FD-ONU-MIB?

FD-ONU-MIB is a C-Data (FD-series) EPON vendor MIB, under the epon.fdOnu branch, that manages Optical Network Unit devices - but its scope is considerably broader than basic registration and status: alongside onuBaseManageTable (device type, serial, hardware/firmware revision, MAC, registered LLID count, online status, laser Rx/Tx power) and onuChipInfoTable, it includes per-port Layer 2 configuration (onuUniPortTable, onuPortVlanTable, onuAclRuleTable, onuQueueCfgTable, portEgressShappingTable, portIngressPolicingTable), IGMP snooping (igmpSnoopParaTable/igmpSnoopGroupTable), diagnostics (onuLoopTestTable, onuDynMacTable), and a substantial voice/Integrated Access Device (IAD) subsystem for ONUs that also serve as FTTH voice gateways - H.248/MEGACO signaling (h248ParamCfgTable, h248UserTIDTable, h248RtpTIDCfgTable), SIP signaling (sipParamCfgTable, sipUserCfgTable, sipDigitMapTable), and POTS line management (onuIADPOTSStatusTable, onuIADPOTSEnableTable, onuIADFaxCfgTable). This makes it a combined EPON-access-plus-VoIP-gateway MIB rather than a pure ONU status MIB, deployed on C-Data FD-series ONUs that bundle Ethernet, video, and analog voice service over a single PON drop, and administrators can download the FD-ONU-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FD-ONU-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • C-Data FD-series EPON ONU (Optical Network Unit) devices, including voice-gateway variants

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls onuBaseManageTable for onuOnLineStatus and onuLaserRxPower on a subscriber's ONU, and separately checks onuIADPOTSStatusTable for that same ONU's voice ports; a healthy online status with strong received optical power but a POTS line reporting a fault points to the voice/IAD subsystem rather than the PON link as the source of a reported 'no dial tone' complaint.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ONU registration and online status
  • ONU optical Rx/Tx power levels
  • per-port VLAN, ACL, and QoS (queue/shaping/policing) configuration
  • IGMP snooping group membership
  • H.248/SIP voice signaling configuration
  • POTS line status and fax configuration
