What Is CROUTE-MIB?
CROUTE-MIB is a private MIB (built on GEN-MIB, extending RMON-MIB) managing IP routing, BOOTP relay, and RIP configuration on this vendor's Layer 3 switch platform. Its objects cover BOOTP-relay status (enable/disable/backup/active-backup, the latter driven by IP-redundancy failover), ICMP-error-message enable, ARP inactive-timeout, an IP-interface table (address, netmask, lower-interface alias, type, broadcast-forwarding, broadcast address, proxy ARP, status, main-router address, ARP-server status, name, NetBIOS rebroadcast, ICMP redirects), and RIP globals/interface settings (enable, OSPF/static route leaking into RIP, metric). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm BOOTP relay's active/backup state and an IP interface's proxy-ARP and broadcast-forwarding settings. It is deployed on this vendor's Layer 3 switch platform. Engineers can download the CROUTE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
