Description: Whenever to activate the RIP protocol on the device. disable means don't activate RIP over all the IP interfaces enable means that the status of each interface is relevant
What is ripGlobalsRIPEnable?
This read-write enumerated integer globally enables or disables RIP on the device, where disable turns RIP off everywhere and enable makes each individual interface's own RIP status take effect. An admin uses this master switch to shut down RIP entirely during a migration to another routing protocol without having to disable it interface by interface. For example, setting ripGlobalsRIPEnable to disable(2) instantly stops RIP across the whole device regardless of any individual ripInterfaceState settings.
