Description: Whenever to activate the IP REDUNDANCY mechanism on the device. enable - set by the user, means activate the IP REDUNDANCY mechanism over the defined IP interfaces. disable - set by the user, means don't active the IP REDUNDANCY mechanism over the defined IP interfaces. inactive - set by the device (status), means the backup interface is in stand-by (after enable operation). active - set by the device (status), means the backup interface is working (after time-out).

What is ipRedundancyStatus?

This read-write enumerated integer controls the IP Redundancy failover mechanism, with enable/disable set by the admin and inactive/active reflecting the device's own current standby or failover state. An admin sets this to enable(1) on a backup router to have it stand ready to take over the primary's IP interfaces, and the device itself reports active(4) once it has taken over after a timeout. For example, after the admin enables IP Redundancy on a backup unit, it reports inactive(3) during normal operation and switches itself to active(4) only if the primary router stops responding.
