Description: This variable indicates the number of hops that is to be assign to that interface.
What is ripInterfaceMetric?
This read-write integer sets the RIP hop-count metric assigned to routes advertised out of this interface. An admin raises this value to make routes via this interface look less preferable to RIP neighbors, effectively deprioritizing a backup or slower path. For example, setting a higher metric on a low-bandwidth backup link ensures RIP only routes traffic over it when the primary path is unavailable.
