IP Address

OIDs in this theme are generic IPv4/IPv6 address and address-type fields reused across many unrelated features — authentication server addresses, route destinations, storage-access-control entries, and interface addresses — rather than belonging to one specific protocol. Admins set the address-type object (IPv4 or IPv6) alongside the actual address so the device knows how to interpret the bytes that follow, a two-object pattern common throughout this theme. Because the same address/address-type pattern recurs everywhere, look at the surrounding object name, like an ACL, route, or server name, to understand what feature a given IP address OID actually configures.
