tunnelIfLocalInetAddress
Module: TUNNEL-MIB
OID (symbolic): TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfLocalInetAddress
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.9
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InetAddress
Access: read-write
Description: The address of the local endpoint of the tunnel (i.e., the source address used in the outer IP header). If the address is unknown, the value is
0.0.0.0 for IPv4 or :: for IPv6. The type of this object is given by tunnelIfAddressType.
What is tunnelIfLocalInetAddress?
This read-write value sets the local endpoint address of the tunnel, used as the source address in the outer IP header of encapsulated packets; if unknown, it reads as 0.0.0.0 for IPv4 or :: for IPv6, and its type is given by tunnelIfAddressType. Admins configure it to specify which local IP address this device uses as the tunnel's source when encapsulating outbound traffic. For example, on a multi-homed router, setting this to a specific local address ensures the tunnel consistently sources its outer-header traffic from that address rather than an arbitrary interface.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.9 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfLocalInetAddress
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.9.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfLocalInetAddress.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.9.1 s <value>
