cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthResolvedInetAddress
Module: CIENA-CES-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB
OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB::cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthResolvedInetAddress
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.3.1.1.4.2.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InetAddress
Access: read-only
Description: Specifies the resolved IP address if cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthAddr is set to host name. If cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthAddr is set to ip address then cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthResolvedInetAddress will contain same information as cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthAddr. This OID should be used in conjuction with cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthResolvedInetAddrType.
What is cienaCesRadiusDot1xAuthResolvedInetAddress?
This holds the actual IP address the switch is using to reach the 802.1X RADIUS authentication server, whether that came from resolving a configured hostname or was configured directly as an IP. An admin troubleshooting authentication failures should check this object rather than assuming a configured hostname always resolves the way it did last time, since stale DNS caching or a changed record can silently point the switch at a different server than intended. For example, if the configured hostname radius1.corp.local is moved to a new server by a DNS change, this object shows the new resolved IP (say 10.20.30.5) even though the configured hostname text never changed.
