tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress
Module: TUNNEL-MIB
OID (symbolic): TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InetAddress
Access: read-write
Description: The address of the remote endpoint of the tunnel (i.e., the destination address used in the outer IP header). If the address is unknown or the tunnel is not a point-to-point link (e.g., if it is a 6to4 tunnel), the value is 0.0.0.0 for tunnels over IPv4 or :: for tunnels over IPv6. The type of this object is given by tunnelIfAddressType.
What is tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress?
This read-write value sets the remote endpoint address of the tunnel, used as the destination address in the outer IP header of encapsulated packets; it reads as 0.0.0.0 for IPv4 or :: for IPv6 if unknown or if the tunnel isn't a simple point-to-point link, such as a 6to4 tunnel, and its type is given by tunnelIfAddressType. Admins configure it to specify the far-end device this tunnel terminates on. For example, setting this to a specific remote address configures this tunnel interface as a point-to-point link terminating on that specific peer device.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.10 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.10.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.10.1 s <value>
