TCP Connection

OIDs here report the number of active TCP connections on a device, the state of an individual connection, following the standard TCP state machine, listen, established, closing, and so on, and connection-level counters like resets received on established connections. Admins watch the total connection count to spot a connection leak or a denial-of-service pattern consuming resources, and check individual connection state or reset counts when diagnosing why a specific application or backend keeps dropping. Some management systems can also force-close a stuck connection by writing a delete value to its connection-state object, rather than only reading it.
